Financial Analyst I

What you'll do

• Perform month-end close activities including cost validation, accrual analysis, and variance review.
• Execute cost reclassifications to ensure expenses are charged to the correct contract and work package.
• Review and correct timecard allocations in coordination with program managers and employees.
• Conduct data analysis and reconciliation across financial systems to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain contract budget baselines by updating work breakdown structures and tracking changes.
• Support billing and revenue recognition by reconciling costs to invoices and tracking unbilled accounts.
• Build recurring financial reports and dashboards in Excel, Anaplan, and Foundry to automate deliverables.
• Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) and federal contracting standards to ensure compliance with government requirements.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 0–2 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related analytical role including internships and co-ops.
• Strong Excel modeling skills and comfort working with large datasets.
• Demonstrated ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to apply for and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
• Internship or coursework exposure to government contracting, cost accounting, or aerospace & defense (preferred).
• Exposure to data visualization tools, SQL, Python, or understanding of manufacturing/engineering cost structures (preferred).
