The 2027 Business Technology Solutions Intern - Data & Software Engineering (Undergraduate) joins the Business Technology Solutions team to support pharmaceutical operations through technical innovation. Depending on the assigned track, the intern will either focus on Software/Application Engineering or Data Engineering. In the software track, they will design and maintain enterprise applications, building front-end interfaces, back-end services, APIs, and microservices using Java (Spring Boot), NodeJS, Vue.js, HTML, JavaScript, SQL, TypeScript, APEX, or Python while applying generative AI to custom solutions. In the data track, they will build and optimize data infrastructure, pipelines, and warehouses to answer scientific or business questions using Java, Python, R, SQL, and machine learning algorithms. The role involves integrating diverse data sources and ensuring secure processing to create foundations for analytics and data science.

What you'll do

Develop, test, and maintain highly interactive and responsive user interfaces for enterprise applications.
Build backend services, APIs, and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
Implement server-side logic, workflows, and data pipelines to optimize performance and scalability.
Design and develop technology solutions to answer specific scientific or business questions.
Build, maintain, and optimize data infrastructure including databases and integration systems.
Ensure data is collected, processed, and stored efficiently and securely across the organization.
Integrate diverse data sources to create foundations for analytics and data science operations.
Apply generative AI and machine learning algorithms to custom software solutions.

What we're looking for

Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, AI, or related majors.
Graduation date must be between December 2027 and June 2028.
Must be enrolled in university the semester following the internship and graduate within one year post-internship.
Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher.
Experience with front-end (NodeJS, Vue.js, HTML) or back-end (Java, JavaScript, SQL, TypeScript, APEX, Python) technologies.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, R, and SQL for data engineering tasks.
Ability to apply generative AI to custom software solutions or use machine learning algorithms.
Strong analytical skills, creative problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication and leadership skills.
