Backend Software Engineer

What you'll do

• Drive automation and centralization across partner pricing and billing systems.
• Build and extend reconciliation systems to ensure accurate pricing and billing for partners.
• Design and implement automated controls to support compliance requirements and financial integrity.
• Deliver secure, scalable solutions for complex partner requirements with a long-term architectural perspective.
• Develop end-to-end features using event-driven architectures, Kafka, MongoDB, and MariaDB.
• Improve the reliability and observability of systems supporting external partners and financial operations.
• Participate in incident resolution and provide on-call support for assigned areas.
• Mentor other engineers and contribute to broader engineering initiatives like code reviews and hiring.

What we're looking for

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and a track record of contributing to impactful projects.
• Experience with Java or a similar object-oriented programming language.
• Ability to design systems with a long-term approach using patterns for safe iteration and scaling.
• Accountability for the availability, reliability, and security of built systems.
• Commitment to engineering best practices regarding observability, security, testing, and responsible data usage.
• Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively across functions while mentoring other engineers.
• Experience in payments, fintech, billing, or a regulated financial domain (preferred).
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures, reconciliation systems, or configuration-heavy domains (preferred).
