Key Responsibilities:

In this critical role, you’ll be instrumental in shaping the core capabilities essential for our platform’s success on GCP, including automation, workflow optimization and integration with core CME services. Your primary objective will be harnessing key GCP services to establish, enhance and automate fundamental platform functionalities while emphasizing scalability, resiliency, recoverability, and compliance. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will enable and implement key data platform services, implement advanced automation solutions and optimize workflows for seamless CICD pipelines. Skills and Software Requirements:

Programming Languages:

Proficiency in languages such as Java or Python and SQL. Any experience with Ruby, Perl, Go, Scala would be a bonus. 

Cloud Platform:

Proficient in cloud platforms, especially GCP or AWS, including cloud-specific native technologies, programming languages, and security concepts. Experience with BigQuery is a major bonus. 

Cloud Security and Secure Coding Practices:

In-depth understanding of cloud security principles and secure coding techniques, along with knowledge of security frameworks for cloud-based applications.

Containerization and Orchestration:

Experienced with containers, orchestration tools (like, Kubernetes, Mesos, Docker Swarm, etc.) and container registries (like Google Artifact Registry, Docker Hub, etc.).

Automation and Workflow Management:

Skilled in automating infrastructure and workflows using tools like Terraform.

Big Data Frameworks and Tools:

Knowledge of frameworks like Spark, Flink or Apache Beam.

DevOps Tools:

Proficient in Jenkins, Maven and  Git for continuous integration and deployment.

Quality Assurance:

Skilled in comprehensive system testing and optimizing solution intricacies.

Agile and DevSecOps Methodologies:

Familiar with Agile delivery methods and DevSecOps principles, including CI/CD

Problem-Solving:

Advanced problem-solving skills, able to drive initiatives and tasks independently, with a versatile approach to designing and implementing solutions.

Collaborative and Autonomous Working Skills:

As a Staff Security Engineer - Operations within Global Information Security (GIS), you will serve as the technical leader, establishing the direction and accountability for our weekend operational defense posture. This role is responsible for ensuring seamless, high-quality / hands-on execution of security operations and governance across our distributed, two-person weekend teams located in Bengaluru, Belfast, and the US (New York/Chicago). You will be accountable for setting operational standards and ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery during the non-traditional trading window.

This position is a critical component of our comprehensive "Follow-the-Sun" support model, vital to achieving 24/7 market protection. Your primary focus will be on global incident response efforts, scheduling and execution of change management tasks, running disaster recovery procedures and driving continuous, global operational maturity across all shifts.

*Specific Deployment:*

• *Initial Training Schedule:* (First 3-6 months): Until the selected candidate is fully up to speed on our specific technologies and environment, the work schedule will be Monday - Friday business hours, working alongside existing Cyber Defense Operations engineers for onboarding, training and ramp-up.

• Target Shift Schedule: After the initial training period, this role will transition Saturday and Sunday as part of a 5 day week to cover weekend support. The target shift timing will be 08:30-17:30 IST Thursday to Monday.

• *Incident Response Leadership & Governance:* Act as the operational escalation point of contact and owner for regional weekend teams during incidents involving Cyber Defense Applications. About the role

*What You’ll Do:*

• Architect and Implement: Build and maintain scalable IaaS and PaaS solutions on GCP, specializing in highly available Windows Server clusters and workloads.
• Advanced PowerShell Automation: Design, develop, and maintain reusable PowerShell modules and frameworks to automate complex administrative tasks, environment health checks, and self-healing infrastructure.
• Windows OS Hardening: Lead the security hardening of Windows images using CIS Benchmarks or STIGs, ensuring OS-level compliance is baked into the automated build process.
• Standardize IaC: Lead the development and lifecycle management of the Windows image pipeline and lifecycle management for use in our Google Compute Engine platform.
• Hybrid Identity Management: Manage and automate Windows identity services, including Active Directory, and Group Policy Object (GPO) design, and Managed Service Accounts (gMSA) in a cloud context.
• Manage Image Lifecycles: Utilize Packer and PowerShell to automate the creation, patching, and distribution of secure Windows machine images across multiple GCP projects.
• Operational Excellence: Perform deep-dive Windows Internals troubleshooting (analyzing memory dumps, CPU spikes, and I/O bottlenecks) to optimize system performance.
• Code Quality: Govern Git workflows for infrastructure code, ensuring PowerShell scripts follow best practices (Pester testing, error handling, and documentation).
• Secure the Platform: Integrate secrets management (HashiCorp Vault or cloud-native managers) and manage identity via SAML/SSO.
• Operational Excellence: Improve system reliability, observability, and performance through proactive engineering and troubleshooting.
• Mentor and Collaborate: Work closely with cross-functional teams like developers, networking, and SRE’s  to gather requirements and manage deliverables.

What You’ll Bring (Must-Have):

• Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or 7+ years of professional experience in Windows Systems Engineering at an enterprise scale.
• Expert Windows Administration: Mastery of Windows Server (2016-2022) administration, including WinRM, Kerberos authentication, NTFS permissions, and Registry-level tuning.
• Cloud Expertise: Proven experience deploying and operating enterprise applications on major cloud providers (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
• IaC Proficiency: Advanced experience with Terraform module development, including versioning and state management.

What You'll Do
As a key member of our offensive security team, you will:

• Execute high-impact Red Team exercises against our complex hybrid cloud environments, driven by real-world threat intelligence and the MITRE ATT&CK Framework.

What You'll Bring
We're looking for an engineer with a robust offensive mindset and a proven track record of breaking and building in complex enterprise environments.
Technical Mastery

• 5+ years’ experience wielding industry-standard penetration testing and adversary emulation tools (e.g., Cobalt Strike, Sliver, Mythic, Bloodhound, Burp Suite).
• Expert understanding of the MITRE ATT&CK Framework and advanced evasion techniques used to bypass modern security controls.
• Strong comprehension of the cyber kill chain and the full lifecycle of an Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) targeting financial institutions.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and experience with a compiled language (e.g., Go, C#) for tool development.
• Deep experience attacking and securing complex cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments, from initial access through actions on objective.
• Solid knowledge of Windows and Linux system hardening concepts, Purple Team automation strategies, and vulnerability rating methodologies.
