TL;DR · Principal Enterprise Architect

Principal Enterprise Architect serves as a strategic visionary within the Architecture Foundry’s Central Hub, overseeing the architectural health and evolution of an extensive product portfolio. The role involves transitioning from reactive governance to a proactive architecture by enablement model, where the individual replaces manual hurdles with automated compliance guardrails and "Paved Paths." Key responsibilities include leading the Patterns Council, developing cloud-native blueprints using Infrastructure-as-Code and Policy-as-Code, and championing initiatives like GenAI-first design and advanced resiliency frameworks. The position requires expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), C++, high-throughput messaging, DevSecOps, and Zero-Trust Network Access. This role addresses complex technical challenges within the financial services sector, specifically managing massive-scale, deterministic, and ultra-low latency systems while ensuring strict compliance with regulatory and Systemically Important Financial Market Utility standards in a highly regulated environment.

What you'll do

  • Define the strategic vision for a broad portfolio of products using advanced, cloud-native designs.
  • Replace manual governance hurdles with automated "Architecture by Enablement" and self-service developer paths.
  • Lead the Patterns Council to prioritize and build reusable blueprints using Infrastructure-as-Code and Policy-as-Code.
  • Drive the adoption of Generative AI, ML edge inference, and cloud cost-optimization models across the enterprise.
  • Ensure all architectural designs comply with rigorous regulatory standards and SIFMU requirements.
  • Mentor architects and engineering teams to instill a "You Build It, You Run It" ownership culture.
  • Negotiate with executive stakeholders to align product, engineering, and security goals across the organization.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in software engineering and enterprise architecture within high-throughput, ultra-low latency, or SIFMU financial environments.
  • Subject matter expertise in massive-scale, deterministic, and ultra-low latency (ULL) financial systems.
  • Advanced expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), hybrid-cloud environments, and core engineering practices like C++ and high-throughput messaging.
  • Advanced expertise in DevSecOps, Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM), Zero-Trust Network Access (ZTNA), and Policy-as-Code tooling.
  • Thorough understanding of industry-aligned frameworks such as TOGAF 10 applied within an agile, product-centric operating model.
  • Proven ability to manage conflict and align goals across executive-level stakeholder groups.
  • TOGAF Certification (specifically TOGAF 10) is preferred; Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect is highly desirable.
