TL;DR · Wireless System Integration and Characterization Engineer

As a Wireless System Integration and Characterization Engineer, you will join a dynamic team focused on the system integration and characterization of state-of-the-art wireless SoC products. You will be responsible for the bringup, integration, and tuning of PHY and radio systems starting from first silicon through mass production readiness. Your daily work involves characterizing and validating PHY/RF performance across various operating modes, debugging issues spanning PHY algorithms, RF circuits, and firmware, and developing automated test workflows to accelerate evaluation. To succeed, you must apply knowledge of communication theory and radio calibration algorithms like IQ imbalance and power control. You will utilize tools such as signal analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and software languages including Python, Matlab, Perl, C/C++, or C# to optimize performance and ensure robust results across various process and temperature corners.

What you'll do

  • Bring up, integrate, and tune PHY and radio systems on first-silicon wireless SoCs.
  • Characterize and validate PHY/RF performance across various operating modes and conditions.
  • Debug and root-cause system-level issues involving PHY algorithms, RF circuits, firmware, and test setups.
  • Optimize performance by improving calibration algorithms such as IQ imbalance, LO leakage, and power control.
  • Develop and automate test and characterization workflows to accelerate silicon evaluation and regression.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and ensure robust operation across different process and temperature corners.
  • Drive silicon maturity through iterative bring-up cycles until the product is ready for mass production.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor of Science degree and at least 3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in wireless system design, integration, or bring-up.
  • MSEE or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (preferred).
  • Knowledge of wireless communication protocols such as 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be, LTE/WCDMA/GSM, or 802.11ad/ay (preferred).
  • Understanding of communication theory and key Tx/Rx metrics like EVM and sensitivity (preferred).
  • Experience bringing up radio calibration algorithms such as Power Control, IQ imbalance, LO Leakage, and TSSI (preferred).
  • Experience with wireless/RF test equipment including signal analyzers, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Python, Matlab, Perl, C/C++, or C# and experience with automation infrastructure tools like GIT (preferred).
