TL;DR · Wireless System Integration and Characterization Engineer

As a Wireless System Integration and Characterization Engineer, you will join a dynamic team responsible for the system integration and characterization of state-of-the-art wireless SoC products. You will perform bringup, integration, and tuning of PHY and radio systems on first silicon, ensuring performance across various operating modes. Your daily work involves characterizing and validating PHY/RF performance, debugging complex issues spanning algorithms, circuits, and firmware, and developing automated test workflows to accelerate evaluation. The role requires expertise in communication theory, signal processing, and OFDM-based transceivers. You will utilize tools such as signal analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators while utilizing Python, Matlab, Perl, C/C++, or C# for automation. Key technical focus areas include optimizing calibration algorithms like IQ imbalance and power control to ensure robust performance across process and temperature corners before mass production.

What you'll do

  • Bring up, integrate, and tune PHY and radio systems on first-silicon wireless SoCs.
  • Characterize and validate PHY/RF performance across various operating modes and conditions.
  • Debug and root-cause system-level issues involving PHY algorithms, RF circuits, firmware, and test setups.
  • Optimize performance by improving calibration algorithms such as IQ imbalance, LO leakage, and power control.
  • Develop and automate test and characterization workflows to accelerate silicon evaluation and regression.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and ensure robust performance across process and temperature corners.
  • Drive silicon maturity through iterative bring-up cycles until the product is ready for mass production.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor of Science degree and 3-10 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong fundamentals in RF/PHY systems, signal processing, communication theory, and analog impairments.
  • Practical expertise applying these skills to OFDM-based transceivers.
  • Master's or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (preferred).
  • Knowledge of wireless protocols such as 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be, LTE/WCDMA/GSM, or 802.11ad/ay (preferred).
  • Experience with radio calibration algorithms like Power Control, IQ imbalance, LO Leakage, and TSSI (preferred).
  • Proficiency in using wireless/RF test equipment such as signal analyzers, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers (preferred).
  • Experience with Python, Matlab, Perl, C/C++, or C# for developing test automation and infrastructure (preferred).
