VP Product Manager – Advisory Platforms serves as a strategic partner within the Wealth Management Products organization, focusing on end-to-end capabilities and vendor relationships that support advisor business operations. The role involves translating high-level strategy into actionable roadmaps, managing prioritized backlogs, and driving PI deliverables in collaboration with technology teams. A primary focus is the execution of tax overlay capabilities, including tax-loss harvesting and transition management. The successful candidate will manage third-party vendor relationships, conduct build-versus-buy analyses, and coordinate with internal teams like Model Management to align on shared requirements. Key competencies include a deep understanding of UMA and managed account structures, fluency in the financial services regulatory environment, and mastery of Agile product development. This role solves complex problems regarding advisor workflows, investment management administration, and the delivery of tax-aware portfolio services at scale.
Translate high-level strategy into actionable roadmaps, prioritized backlogs, and defined requirements for advisory platforms.
Lead the end-to-end execution of tax overlay capabilities, including capability definition, vendor selection, and market rollout.
Manage vendor relationships by leading evaluations, contract negotiations, performance management, and "build-versus-buy" analyses.
Drive program increment (PI) deliverables by partnering with technology teams to manage timelines, risks, and dependencies.
Design end-to-end operating models for new capabilities, ensuring alignment with legal, risk, and compliance requirements.
Coordinate with adjacent teams to align on the prioritization and sequencing of shared platform features.
Define success metrics and KPIs to report growth initiatives and product performance to senior leadership.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in a related field; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
10+ years of experience in product management, management consulting, investment management, or program and project management, preferably within financial services or FinTech.
5+ years leading cross-functional teams in an Agile environment, including driving PI planning and delivery with technology partners.
5+ years experience with advisory or managed account platforms, including advisor workflows, trading, rebalancing, or UMA/SMA structures.
5+ years experience with tax overlay, tax-managed, or tax-aware portfolio management capabilities (preferred).
Expertise in the financial services regulatory environment and deep knowledge of advisory business operations.
Experience managing third-party vendor relationships, including evaluation, selection, performance management, and contract negotiations.
Ability to communicate complex information to executive leadership and stakeholders through high-quality reports and presentations.
