As a VP Java Applications Development Sr. Tech Lead, you will join the Markets Financing desk to drive the design, development, and delivery of mission-critical applications for the term and flow business. You will oversee the entire development lifecycle for Repo and Collateral Optimization, building intuitive front-end interfaces and resilient back-end services. The role involves managing a global team, setting technical direction, and ensuring high availability while translating complex requirements into scalable solutions. You will work with technologies including Java, Angular, C#, NodeJS, and Linux servers within cloud containers using OpenShift and Kubernetes. Your work involves specialized domain knowledge of Fixed Income products like Repo, Swaps, Bonds, and Futures, as well as experience with Kafka, Oracle, MS SQL Server, GemFire, and Apache Ignite to solve complex problems in collateral management and critical funding operations.
Lead the design, development, and delivery of mission-critical applications for the Markets Financing desk.
Oversee the full development lifecycle for Repo and Collateral Optimization systems including front-end and back-end services.
Translate complex business requirements from stakeholders into scalable and robust technical solutions.
Set the technical direction and establish standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
Manage a global development team by serving as an advisor, coach, and work allocator.
Ensure all systems meet high availability, performance standards, and strict regulatory compliance.
Resolve high-impact problems by evaluating complex business processes and industry standards.
Develop innovative solutions for collateral management, trade capture, and risk processing.
What we're looking for
10+ years of relevant industry experience.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Master's degree (preferred).
Strong front-end and back-end system design and development expertise.
Advanced Java programming skills for distributed and high-performance systems.
Experience with .NET/C# and NodeJS for backend services.
UI development experience using Angular (preferred).
Expertise in caching technologies like GemFire and Apache Ignite; enterprise messaging via Kafka, and relational databases like Oracle or MS SQL Server.
In-depth understanding of the Repo trade lifecycle, including collateral optimization, STP flows, and inventory management.
