VMware VDI to AWS WorkSpaces Core Migration Architect

What you'll do

• Design the target-state AWS WorkSpaces Core architecture including networking, directory integration, and bundle strategy.
• Define Terraform module structures for WorkSpaces provisioning, FSx configuration, VPC layouts, and IAM policies.
• Architect CI/CD pipelines for golden image builds, testing, and deployment lifecycles.
• Lead customer discovery sessions to translate business requirements into technical migration scopes.
• Establish migration wave plans, cutover sequencing, and rollback procedures.
• Develop Python and PowerShell scripts for user provisioning, application installation, and operational automation.
• Package applications using silent-install commands and configure enterprise agents on images.
• Produce architecture documentation, operational runbooks, and knowledge-transfer materials.

What we're looking for

• Required to have deep knowledge of AWS WorkSpaces Core, including provisioning, bundle management, and directory integration.
• Required to possess expert-level Terraform skills for module development, state management, and CI/CD integration.
• Required to have proficiency in Python and PowerShell for automation scripting and Windows image configuration.
• Required to have experience with AWS platform services including VPC, IAM, FSx, CloudWatch, KMS, and Systems Manager.
• Required to have experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and networking components like Direct Connect and Transit Gateway.
• Required to have experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline.
• Preferred to have 8+ years of infrastructure/cloud engineering experience and 3+ years in VDI/EUC environments.
• Preferred to hold AWS Certified Solutions Architect, HashiCorp Certified Terraform Associate, or VMware Certified Professional (VCP-DCV) credentials.
