Vice President, DevEx joins the CTO, Software team to maximize AI-enabled developer productivity and reduce friction across the software development lifecycle. This leader will build a high-performing team of engineers to deliver an AI-native developer experience as a product for internal customers. Key responsibilities include managing the developer platform, including service catalogs, golden paths, and paved-road workflows; overseeing engineering systems like Git platforms, CI/CD, build systems, and test automation; and leading initiatives in API governance, developer metrics, and code review automation. The role requires expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and AI-native software development practices to solve the challenge of scaling software production for thousands of engineers. Essential skills include experience with feature flags, deployment workflows, and fostering a culture of operational excellence while managing internal tools and developer advocacy programs.
Implement an AI-native developer experience to automate design, verification, and orchestration across the software lifecycle.
Manage the developer platform including service catalogs, self-service onboarding, golden paths, and paved-road workflows.
Oversee engineering systems such as Git platforms, CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and deployment tooling.
Drive developer productivity by analyzing metrics, optimizing environments, and implementing AI coding assistants.
Manage API governance, lifecycle management, and the development of shared libraries and SDKs.
Lead developer success initiatives including training programs, documentation systems, and communities of practice.
Execute a developer advocacy model to gather feedback and drive adoption of internal tools.
Build and lead a high-performing team of software engineers and leaders to support internal customers.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; Ph.D. (preferred).
Current or prior experience operating at the VP level in engineering within an established technology company.
15+ years of relevant engineering experience.
8+ years in senior people leadership roles.
4+ years leading global software engineering teams serving multiple internal customers and delivering capabilities used by millions of users or supporting $100M+ businesses (preferred).
Deep expertise in developer experience, including delivering DevEx capabilities at scale and improving developer productivity.
Deep technical expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and modern AI-native software development lifecycle practices.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to deliver persuasive content for senior executive audiences.
