JOB TITLE: (USA) Staff, Systems and Infrastructure Engineer - Enterprise Storage
The Enterprise Storage Platform team seeks a Staff, Systems and Infrastructure Engineer to design and operate next-generation storage infrastructure for mission-critical applications, data platforms, and Kubernetes workloads at multi-petabyte scale. You will lead the architecture and evolution of block, file, object, and cloud-native storage platforms across on-premises, cloud, and Kubernetes environments. Key responsibilities include driving platform modernization, developing self-service storage capabilities via APIs, and building automation frameworks for provisioning and lifecycle management. You will utilize Python, Terraform, Ansible, Argo CD, Helm, and CI/CD pipelines to implement Infrastructure as Code and GitOps practices. Additionally, you will leverage Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry for observability while managing technologies like NetApp, Pure Storage, VAST Data, and Portworx to ensure high availability and data protection.
Design and evolve enterprise-scale storage platforms across block, file, object, and cloud-native services.
Define storage platform strategies, technology roadmaps, and multi-year modernization initiatives for mission-critical workloads.
Architect highly available and secure storage solutions for on-premises, cloud, and Kubernetes environments.
Develop self-service storage platforms using APIs, automated workflows, and Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and Ansible.
Build Python-based automation services and SDK integrations to reduce manual operational toil.
Design telemetry, monitoring, and alerting solutions to drive platform observability and operational analytics.
Lead root cause analysis for production incidents and implement long-term architectural improvements.
Ensure storage platforms meet security, compliance, and data protection requirements through automated policy enforcement.
What we're looking for
Must have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 4 years of technology infrastructure engineering experience, or 6 years of experience without a degree.
Must have 10+ years of experience designing, engineering, and operating enterprise storage platforms in large-scale environments.
Must have deep hands-on experience with platforms such as NetApp, Pure Storage, VAST Data, Cohesity, or Dell PowerScale.
Must have strong architectural understanding of SAN, NAS, object storage, and distributed storage systems including FC, iSCSI, NVMe-oF, NFS, SMB, and S3.
Must have expert-level Python programming skills for developing automation frameworks, platform services, and REST API integrations.
Must have strong experience implementing Infrastructure as Code and GitOps using Terraform, Ansible, Argo CD, Helm, and CI/CD pipelines.
Must have hands-on experience deploying and optimizing Portworx or similar Kubernetes-native storage platforms in production.
Must have experience designing and operating observability solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or similar frameworks.
