IT Storage Engineer

What you'll do

• Design, implement, and maintain multi-tier storage infrastructure for high-performance, capacity, archive, and disaster recovery needs.
• Architect and operate high-throughput, low-latency storage and exabyte-scale file systems for simulation and telemetry workloads.
• Administer enterprise storage systems including NetApp, Pure FlashArray/FlashBlade, Vast, and HPE Alletra.
• Monitor and troubleshoot storage performance across hardware, transport (RDMA), and protocol layers.
• Manage storage access, data permissions, and access controls across various protocols and operating systems.
• Develop automation and tooling for monitoring, capacity planning, configuration management, and alerting.
• Define and enforce standards for storage deployment, performance tuning, and operational management.
• Perform scheduled maintenance, on-call rotations, and physical hardware installations.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and 3+ years of professional IT storage engineering experience.
• 5+ years of IT storage engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience with enterprise storage platforms including NetApp, Pure Storage, Vast, and HPE Alletra.
• Strong understanding of storage protocols including NFS, CIFS/SMB, iSCSI, and NVMe over TCP.
• Experience with client and server hardware/software, monitoring tools, enterprise networking, and virtualization (preferred).
• Mid-level experience with DFS administration (preferred).
• Experience automating infrastructure with Python, PowerShell, or Ansible (preferred).
• Must be a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible for Department of State authorization.
