As a Data Engineer III on the User and Entity Behavior Analytics team, you will design and build scalable data pipelines to transform disparate data sources into actionable detections. You will develop data flows, risk scoring models, and behavioral detections to strengthen data loss prevention, insider threat, and threat actor detection capabilities. Your daily work involves engineering reliable, production-grade data assets that enable automation and AI-driven analytics. You will utilize SQL, relational databases, ETL frameworks, workflow orchestration, and cloud or big data platforms to optimize large-scale datasets and document data lineage. This role solves critical cybersecurity problems by providing trusted, governed data for proactive threat detection, helping to protect the global technology environment from emerging threats through advanced analytics and machine learning.
Design and build scalable data pipelines to ingest and transform data from various security and enterprise sources.
Develop data flows and risk scoring models to strengthen data loss prevention and insider threat detection.
Engineer production-grade data assets that enable high-fidelity detections and faster response to emerging threats.
Create and optimize efficient data models while documenting clear data lineage for large-scale datasets.
Develop behavioral detections to identify threat actors and mitigate data loss risks.
Optimize large-scale datasets using SQL and relational databases to support automation and AI-driven analytics.
Identify root causes for complex technical problems and communicate effective solutions to technical and business teams.
What we're looking for
Obtain a Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or a related area and 2 years of data assurance experience.
Obtain 4 years of experience in data assurance at a technology, retail, or data-driven company.
Experience designing and building scalable data pipelines that ingest, transform, and deliver trusted data for analytics, automation, or machine learning.
Strong proficiency in SQL and relational databases, including developing efficient data models, documenting data lineage, and optimizing large-scale datasets.
Familiarity with ETL frameworks, workflow orchestration, and cloud or big data platforms.
Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems, identify root causes, and communicate solutions effectively across technical and business teams.
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related area (preferred).
Certification in Security+, Network+, GISF, CISSP, or CCSP (preferred).
