What you'll do

  • Install, test, and document various telecommunications equipment and systems.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electronic and optical infrastructure.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, drawings, and data for all performed work.
  • Inspect and maintain test equipment, tools, and safety gear in good working order.
  • Read and update electrical prints, diagrams, and asset records for telecom technologies.
  • Operate specialized tools and equipment necessary to perform daily job duties.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees in lower classifications as requested.
  • Respond to emergency callouts and work overtime to support 24/7 operations.

What we're looking for

  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
  • Must have an Associate degree, 2-year technical degree, military training, or a high school diploma with at least 1 year of related experience.
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year of technical work experience in addition to the education requirement.
  • Must demonstrate entry to basic level technical support skills equivalent to a Telecom Technician Apprentice III.
  • Must possess strong electronics and telecommunications aptitude.
  • Must be able to perform heavy physical labor, including lifting and moving items up to 60 lbs.
  • Must have effective oral and written communication skills and proficiency in computer applications.
  • Must be willing to travel for work and respond to emergency callouts or planned overtime.
