As the Technology Operational Risk Management (Technology Development) - Executive Director, you will join the Tech and Cyber Operational Risk Management team to provide second line of defense oversight for software delivery systems. You will perform independent risk assessments on controls governing how code is planned, reviewed, tested, and released, specifically focusing on risks introduced by artificial intelligence agents and agentic development tooling. Using a data-first approach, you will analyze large engineering datasets using Python and SQL to build dashboards in Tableau or AWS QuickSight that make development risks visible to senior management and regulators. You will evaluate access controls for autonomous agents, assess observability across the engineering estate, and test statistical hypotheses regarding key risk indicators. This role requires expertise in software delivery toolchains, source control, CI/CD pipelines, and experience with large language models.
Perform independent risk assessments of controls governing software planning, writing, testing, and release using data-first approaches.
Challenge the first line on control models for AI coding assistants and agentic development tools.
Evaluate access controls and credentials granted to automated agents and development tooling.
Assess observability and telemetry across the engineering estate to detect data loss or unexpected behavior.
Use Python and SQL to analyze large datasets and build risk visibility dashboards for senior management.
Define and test statistical hypotheses to identify thematic risks in software delivery via KRI and KPI performance.
Develop and maintain an annual oversight plan while reporting independent views to regulators and internal committees.
Monitor first-line remediation of control findings and coach junior data scientists to raise analytical standards.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
15 years of experience in technology risk, technology audit, software engineering, or application security within financial services.
Hands-on software development experience in Python.
Experience querying and analyzing data in SQL.
Hands-on experience with the software delivery toolchain, including source control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
Experience assessing or testing technology controls such as change management, access management, or secure software development.
Experience with data visualization and reporting tools like Tableau or AWS QuickSight.
Experience presenting technology risk findings to senior management and coaching junior technical colleagues.
Experience with AI coding assistants, agentic tooling, LLMs, observability platforms, cloud infrastructure, or professional certifications (preferred).
