As a Technology Operational Management Director (Infrastructure & Cloud Technology Operational Risk) - Executive Director within the Tech & Cyber Operational Risk Management team, you will provide independent oversight of operational risk for cloud and infrastructure platforms. You will partner with technology and cybersecurity teams to review how solutions are developed and operated while assessing the effectiveness of processes and controls aligned to the CCOR Tech & Cyber framework. Your daily work involves evaluating third-party risks, identifying risk concentrations, and providing credible challenge on control design. You must possess subject matter expertise in infrastructure components like network engineering, compute, storage, and database platforms across on-prem and cloud environments. Required skills include experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure, infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or Ansible, DevOps practices, and monitoring systems to manage risks within the firm's technology services.
Perform independent reviews of global technology and cybersecurity processes for public and private cloud environments.
Assess operational risks for infrastructure platforms, tools, and systems used to deliver firm services.
Evaluate third-party risks related to technology providers, services, and dependencies within the assigned domain.
Identify global risk concentrations and assess inherent risks versus mitigating controls across technology areas.
Recommend control enhancements to ensure alignment with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Track emerging technologies and vulnerabilities to inform risk assessments and oversight priorities.
Provide credible challenge and guidance to technology partners regarding control design and operational effectiveness.
Document all assessments and conclusions to ensure transparency and auditability for governance forums.
What we're looking for
Subject matter expertise in infrastructure and cloud technology domains, including operational processes and control expectations.
Hands-on experience with enterprise infrastructure components like network, compute, storage, database, and messaging in on-prem and cloud environments.
Working knowledge of network engineering concepts such as routing, switching, DNS/DHCP, load balancing, firewalls, and VPNs.
Experience with compute and virtualization including Linux/Windows, private cloud, and cloud compute primitives with hardening controls.
Knowledge of storage and data protection practices including backup, replication, retention, and disaster recovery.
Working knowledge of database platforms including relational and NoSQL services, encryption, access controls, and lifecycle management.
Hands-on experience with at least one major public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and multi-cloud considerations.
Knowledge of cloud security and compliance practices including IAM, encryption, vulnerability management, and relevant control frameworks.
