The Technology Operational Management Director (Infrastructure & Cloud Technology Operational Risk) - Executive Director joins the Tech & Cyber Operational Risk Management team. This role provides independent oversight of operational risk for cloud and infrastructure platforms, tools, and supporting systems. You will partner with technology and cybersecurity teams to review how solutions are developed, deployed, and operated while assessing the effectiveness of processes and controls aligned to the CCOR Tech & Cyber framework. Responsibilities include performing independent reviews of global processes, evaluating third-party risks, and identifying elevated risk concentrations. You must possess subject matter expertise in infrastructure components like networking, compute, storage, and databases across on-prem and public cloud environments including AWS, GCP, or Azure. Required skills include infrastructure as code, DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud security practices.
Perform independent reviews of global technology and cybersecurity processes for public and private cloud use.
Assess operational risk for infrastructure platforms, tools, and systems used to deliver technology services.
Evaluate third-party risks related to technology providers, services, and dependencies within the assigned domain.
Identify global risk concentrations and assess inherent risks and mitigating controls across technology areas.
Recommend control enhancements to align with firm policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Provide credible challenge and guidance to technology partners on control design and operational effectiveness.
Support the implementation and execution of the CCOR Tech & Cyber framework through risk assessment and reporting.
Document assessments, conclusions, and actions to ensure transparency, auditability, and follow-through.
What we're looking for
Subject matter expertise in infrastructure and cloud technology domains, including operational processes and control expectations.
Hands-on experience across enterprise infrastructure components like network, compute, storage, database, and messaging in on-prem and cloud environments.
Working knowledge of network engineering concepts such as routing, switching, DNS/DHCP, load balancing, firewalls, and VPNs.
Experience with compute and virtualization, including Linux/Windows, private cloud, cloud compute primitives, and reliability/hardening controls.
Knowledge of storage and data protection practices, including backup/restore, replication, retention, and disaster recovery.
Working knowledge of database platforms, including relational and NoSQL services, encryption, access controls, and lifecycle management.
Hands-on experience with at least one major public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and awareness of multi-cloud considerations.
Knowledge of cloud security, infrastructure as code, DevOps/CI/CD practices, and monitoring/observability practices.
Experience designing and managing scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solution architectures (preferred).
Knowledge of cloud-native application design patterns, including microservices, containers, serverless, and event-driven architectures (preferred).
