JOB TITLE: Technology Cost Transparency & Governance Lead
The Technology Cost Transparency & Governance Lead is a Vice President role within the Global Technology Services Financial Operations Office. Reporting to the VP of product, tooling, and transformation, this individual will build and lead the Technology Financial Management and Total Cost of Ownership capability. Key responsibilities include owning the TCO and ITFM methodology, designing cost models, establishing showback and chargeback reporting, and defining KPIs for cost optimization. The role requires translating financial policies into requirements for analytics and data delivery partners while partnering with procurement, infrastructure, and cloud teams. Essential skills include expertise in cost allocation, FinOps, and TBM taxonomy. The position solves the business problem of providing clear, consistent insight into technology spend and optimization opportunities for senior leadership.
Own the TCO/ITFM methodology, including cost pools, allocation rules, service costing, and change history.
Establish showback reporting and chargeback preparedness through methodology design, policy inputs, and stakeholder alignment.
Define the framework for identifying, sizing, tracking, and reporting cost optimization opportunities.
Set logic for validating realized savings against targets and defining KPIs for executive narratives.
Translate financial policies and business needs into requirements for analytics and data delivery partners.
Validate that implemented calculations and data products reflect the agreed methodology for leadership reporting.
Partner with finance, procurement, and technology teams to improve source data quality.
Maintain documentation, assumptions, and governed methodology artifacts to ensure auditability and consistency.
What we're looking for
Strong understanding of ITFM, TCO, cost allocation, showback, chargeback, and cost transparency.
Experience in ITFM, TCO, FinOps, finance transformation, business operations, and related fields.
Experience designing or operating cost allocation, showback, chargeback, unit costing, service costing, or benefit tracking frameworks.
Experience defining KPIs, allocation methods, and reporting standards for executive financial or operational reporting.
Experience translating financial and operational requirements into analytics, reporting, or data product requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Information Systems, Operations Management, or a related field (preferred).
MBA or relevant advanced degree (preferred).
Relevant certifications or training such as TBM Practitioner, financial analysis, technology, finance, or service management (preferred).
