Technical Solutions Engineering Manager

What you'll do

• Define and deliver a comprehensive technical support experience for developers and complex users.
• Develop the long-term vision and strategy for the Technical Solutions Engineering team.
• Manage day-to-day operations and recruit, coach, and develop user-facing engineers.
• Build cross-functional relationships to influence and improve the overall developer experience.
• Implement innovative ways to make Stripe’s developer experience more self-serve and impactful.
• Define, implement, and monitor key metrics to ensure the quality of developer support.
• Promote career growth and individual development for all team members.

What we're looking for

• Experience leading, managing, and developing user-facing engineering teams.
• Background in software development in one or more programming languages.
• Ability to work a schedule providing meaningful daily overlap with APAC business hours.
• For US-based candidates, must be in Pacific Time zone working approximately 11 AM to 8 PM PT.
• Direct experience as a user-facing engineer (preferred).
• Clear and persuasive communication skills in writing and in person (preferred).
• Technical proficiency to ask engineers good questions about design and integration decisions (preferred).
• Ability to inspire, coach, and promote career growth for engineers (preferred).
