Technical Marketing Engineer, Cisco Validated joins the Cisco Validated team to transform integrated technology strategies into field-credible, evidence-backed proof. This role involves contributing to validation workstreams for integrated solutions by building and testing lab environments that mirror real customer scenarios to determine what is repeatable and supportable. The engineer will execute test plans, capture evidence, troubleshoot issues, and translate technical findings into documentation and proof assets. Key responsibilities involve mastering secure networking, routing, switching, wireless, cloud, data center, AI infrastructure, and digital resilience. Required skills include lab validation methods, performance testing, interoperability testing, and technical documentation. The role addresses the challenge of validating cross-portfolio outcomes across networking, security, collaboration, and AI to ensure integrated technologies work effectively together in complex environments. Candidates must possess a strong foundation in high-performance fabrics, telemetry, and various infrastructure concepts.
Build and test lab environments that reflect real customer scenarios to determine what is repeatable and supportable.
Execute technical test plans and capture evidence to validate integrated Cisco solutions.
Troubleshoot technical issues during the validation process to ensure system reliability.
Translate complex technical findings into documentation inputs and field-facing proof assets.
Develop technical fluency across networking, security, cloud, AI infrastructure, and collaboration platforms.
Identify and document technical issues within multi-product environments to support sales and customers.
Follow established lab validation methods for performance testing and interoperability verification.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
7+ years of hands-on industry experience.
2+ years of hands-on experience testing, troubleshooting, supporting, or deploying networking, security, cloud, collaboration, or data center technologies.
Experience following test plans, capturing evidence, documenting findings, and communicating technical results.
Working knowledge of the Cisco portfolio and how products integrate into broader customer architectures (preferred).
Strong foundational networking knowledge including routing, switching, wireless, security, and cloud connectivity (preferred).
Foundational awareness of AI infrastructure concepts such as data center connectivity and secure AI architecture (preferred).
Experience validating, designing, deploying, or supporting integrated solutions in lab or field environments (preferred).
