The Technical Leader- Platform Security joins the Platform Security team to protect the infrastructure powering the internet. This role serves as the primary authority on platform security, steering the architecture, development, and integration of robust security solutions across the full stack, from hardware and firmware to Linux and networking operating systems like SONiC. Key responsibilities include defining strategies for Root of Trust, Secure Boot, attestation, and key lifecycle management. You will implement UEFI Secure Boot, integrate security protocols into Linux environments, and manage manufacturing provisioning of certificates. Required skills include C/C++, Python, shell, and expertise in TPM, kernel architectures, and driver security. The role addresses the technical challenge of establishing a secure chain of trust and ensuring platform integrity from manufacturing through production deployment.
Define platform security strategies including Root of Trust, Secure Boot, and key lifecycle management.
Drive the implementation of UEFI Secure Boot processes including enrollment, rotation, and revocation.
Integrate security protocols into Linux and SONiC environments for kernel integrity and driver security.
Manage the manufacturing and field provisioning of keys and certificates to ensure platform identity.
Conduct platform threat modeling and lead security reviews across hardware, firmware, and software domains.
Provide technical mentorship to engineering teams across multiple hardware and software layers.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of related experience, Master’s degree with 6 years, or PhD with 3 years.
Minimum 5 years of experience in C/C++ and Python/shell with ability to debug across firmware, Linux, and hardware layers.
Minimum 8 years of experience in platform, firmware, or system security.
Minimum 5 years of expertise in UEFI Secure Boot, Linux boot/kernel architectures, and hardware Root of Trust (TPM or equivalent).
8 years of strong Linux system expertise covering boot processes, kernels, drivers, and firmware interfaces within SONiC or similar networking operating systems.
Experience with OpenBMC, Caliptra/DICE, or PKI/X.509 standards (preferred).
Proficiency in kernel/module signing and working with NPU platforms (preferred).
Familiarity with FIPS/Common Criteria compliance or relevant open-source security contributions (preferred).
