The Lead Software Developer - Platform Security joins the engineering team to lead end-to-end software development for complex security data pipelines. This role involves owning system architecture for endpoint protection platforms, authoring System Design Records, and driving platform reliability through availability monitoring and infrastructure hardening. You will design and build APIs, policy evaluation engines, and integration adapter registries while mentoring engineers on code quality and technical growth. The position requires mastery in multiple programming languages, including Python and Ruby, alongside expertise in AWS, GCP, and Azure cloud infrastructures. Key responsibilities include managing Unix/Linux systems, implementing encryption technologies, and utilizing TCP/IP networking protocols. You will solve complex performance and scalability challenges by building automated systems to consume threat feeds and defend against active adversaries within a cloud security context.
Lead end-to-end software development for complex security data pipelines from ingestion to downstream consumers.
Own system architecture for endpoint protection platforms by authoring System Design Records and Architecture Decision Records.
Design and build APIs, including REST API optimization, policy evaluation engines, and integration adapter registries.
Drive platform reliability through availability monitoring strategies, alerting frameworks, and infrastructure hardening.
Set engineering standards for code quality, design consistency, and documentation practices across the team.
Mentor engineers through PR reviews, sprint planning, and technical deep dives to support their technical growth.
Support on-call operations on a rotating schedule, including handling major incidents across different time zones.
Research threat intelligence to build and automate systems that consume threat feeds and track adversaries.
What we're looking for
7+ years of core software development experience with mastery in multiple programming languages and platforms.
A related technical degree is required.
Strong foundation in database engineering, API development, and data pipeline construction including event-driven architectures and distributed systems.
Proven experience with infrastructure hardening, operational reliability, and delivering large projects across the full software lifecycle.
Ability to design systems at scale, including experience with architecture reviews, design documentation, and cross-team alignment.
Experience with Unix/Linux system administration, AWS, GCP, Azure, and building secure infrastructures.
Proficiency in security disciplines including vulnerability analysis, firewalls, encryption, and TCP/IP networking.
Experience with Python and Ruby to automate software/systems (preferred); familiarity with EDR or vulnerability scanning (preferred).
