The Systems Engineering Technician – Engineering Aide supports the Systems Engineering team by coordinating technical meetings and design reviews while managing critical project documentation. This role involves capturing key discussion points, tracking action items, and maintaining structured logs of risks and questions to ensure technical decisions are accurately recorded and accessible. The individual will collect and organize review artifacts like reports and requirements documents within configuration-controlled repositories. Key responsibilities include collaborating with hardware, software, and integration teams to manage review readiness and standardizing documentation processes. Required skills include proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with familiarity with SharePoint or Confluence. Preferred experience includes supporting PDR or CDR milestones, utilizing tools like IBM DOORS or JIRA, and working within aerospace or defense environments to solve complex engineering challenges through meticulous data management and coordination.
Coordinate logistics and schedule tracking for technical meetings and design reviews.
Capture key discussion points, decisions, and follow-up actions during technical working sessions.
Maintain structured logs for review comments, questions, risks, and action items.
Track the status, owners, and due dates of all engineering action items to ensure closure.
Collect and organize design review artifacts such as reports, presentations, and requirements documents.
Manage documentation in configuration-controlled repositories following specific naming and versioning conventions.
Prepare review packages and documentation sets for internal and external stakeholders.
Interface with multiple engineering teams to gather and distribute technical review materials.
What we're looking for
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience.
Experience working in an engineering, technical, or project-support environment.
Demonstrated ability to take detailed meeting notes and accurately capture technical comments and action items.
Proficiency with common office productivity tools and basic familiarity with shared repositories like SharePoint or Confluence.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and clear written and verbal communication skills.
Experience supporting design reviews, configuration management, or using tools like IBM DOORS or JIRA (preferred); experience in aerospace/defense (preferred).
