The Software Configuration Analyst 2/3 joins the Space Sector team to manage software baselines, build activities, and release cycles for complex systems. This role involves planning and monitoring builds across development, integration, test, and production environments while ensuring all changes are documented and traceable to requirements. The analyst maintains configuration management tools like Git and Subversion, manages branching strategies, and oversees documentation control using ALM tools such as DOORS, Jama, Polarion, SharePoint, or Confluence. Key responsibilities include facilitating change control boards, tracking metrics like build success rates, and ensuring compliance with program standards. The position requires expertise in CI/CD pipelines, automation tools including Jenkins, GitLab CI, and Azure DevOps. This role provides critical support to development and systems engineering teams by delivering reliable, repeatable software builds within a mission-critical aerospace and defense context.
Plan, execute, and monitor software builds across development, integration, test, and release environments.
Establish and control multiple software baselines including development, integration, test, and production branches.
Implement and maintain configuration management tools and branching strategies to ensure traceability and reproducibility.
Document software changes by capturing descriptions, rationale, and impact assessments linked to requirements.
Manage documentation control for artifacts such as build instructions, release notes, and configuration item lists.
Facilitate change control activities including preparing for and presenting at Change Control Board meetings.
Ensure all software changes comply with program plans, organizational standards, and customer requirements.
Monitor configuration management metrics to identify and recommend process improvements.
What we're looking for
Must possess an active Top-Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance at time of application.
U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
For Level 2: Bachelor's degree with 2 years experience, Master's with 0 years, or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
For Level 3: Bachelor's degree with 5 years experience, Master's with 3 years, or PhD with 0 years; 4 additional years may be substituted for a degree.
Experience with software builds including build scripts, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
Knowledge of controlling multiple software baselines using Git or other SCM tools for branch management, tagging, and merging.
Experience documenting software changes with impact analysis and traceability to requirements using ALM tools like DOORS, Jama, Polarion, SharePoint, or Confluence.
Experience facilitating change control processes, including supporting or leading Change Control Boards (CCB) and managing change requests.
