The Systems Engineering Intern joins the engineering team to support the development and evaluation of complex system designs and architectures. In this role, the individual performs operational analysis, develops concept of operations, and creates design and implementation plans. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing test plans, procedures, and cases while conducting tests and documenting results. The position involves analyzing systems requirements from end users and delivering presentations to communicate design activity status to internal and external customers. Required skills include proficiency in software tools, scripting, and hardware or software troubleshooting. Preferred competencies include experience in systems architecture, performance modeling, project management, and model-based systems engineering. Candidates should be familiar with Rhapsody. The work focuses on solving complex technical problems within the domain of defense technology across space, air, land, sea, and cyber domains.
Perform operational analysis and develop concept of operations, design, and implementation plans.
Develop test plans, procedures, and specific test cases.
Conduct system tests and document the resulting data.
Utilize software tools, scripting, and hardware/software troubleshooting techniques.
Analyze systems requirements from end users and integrated systems.
Support the development and evaluation of complex system designs and architectures.
Deliver presentations to communicate design activity plans and status to internal and external customers.
What we're looking for
Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Aviation, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
Experience or coursework in systems engineering, architecture, analysis, design, performance modeling, integration, project management, and model-based systems engineering (preferred).
