Systems Engineer, Space

What you'll do

• Manage the full lifecycle of spacecraft design, development, integration, testing, and operations.
• Develop, track, and maintain system requirements to ensure all subsystems meet technical goals.
• Identify and manage program risks by creating and maintaining risk burn-down plans.
• Track and manage system budgets including mass, power, and other critical resource constraints.
• Create technical documentation such as test plans, procedures, and design review materials for stakeholders.
• Drive integration and testing activities to ensure projects meet established schedules.
• Apply space-flight hardware standards to develop high-reliability and manufacturable systems.
• Participate in cross-discipline design reviews to communicate progress to internal and external customers.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, computer science, or a similar engineering or technical field.
• 2-8 years of professional experience in hardware-based product development.
• Basic understanding of design techniques for space flight mechanical, electrical, software, and manufacturing requirements.
• Ability to generate comprehensive block diagrams and decompose systems into their requirements.
• Familiarity with standard interfaces such as Ethernet, CAN, I2C, SPI, PCIe, MIPI CSI-2, etc.
• Familiarity with common MCU, CPU, FPGA devices, technologies, and basic spacecraft design principles.
• Familiarity with managing budgets (mass, power, error, link) and creating models for power, data usage, and propellant.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
• Experience designing, integrating, and flying CubeSat spacecraft in LEO through GEO environments (preferred).
• 1+ years of experience working in a classified environment (preferred).
