The Systems Engineer joins the SLO team within the Production Platform Organization to build and maintain the internal platform and tooling used to measure service level indicators and objectives. You will develop the infrastructure required to collect, store, and provide access to reliability data for monitoring needs while defining metrics for uptime, correctness, availability, and latency. The role involves collaborating cross-functionally to understand system behaviors at a huge scale and refining reliability objectives for enterprise customers. You must possess experience developing and maintaining secure, highly-available distributed systems using Go, Rust, or Python. The position requires a deep understanding of SLOs and SLIs to verify production interactions. Notable technical skills include experience with Clickhouse, Prometheus, GraphQL, Postgres, data pipelines, and synthetic traffic or load testing tools.

What you'll do

Create and maintain production reliability testing infrastructure and availability reporting.
Build the infrastructure to collect, store, and provide access to reliability data.
Measure uptime metrics including correctness, availability, and latency SLIs and SLOs.
Develop, document, and execute SLI/SLO plans to verify system operations.
Analyze how internal systems function and interact at a huge scale.
Provide clear feedback to engineering and product teams to improve reliability measurement processes.
Work with Product Managers to define quality of service measurements for enterprise customers.

What we're looking for

Proven track record as a software engineer with a deep understanding of developing and maintaining distributed systems.
Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and highly-available distributed systems.
Programming experience with Go, Rust, or Python.
Deep understanding and hands-on experience measuring uptime metrics like correctness, availability, and latency using SLOs/SLIs.
Experience working with Clickhouse, Prometheus, GraphQL, and Postgres (preferred).
Experience working with data pipelines with a focus on reliability and scale (preferred).
Experience working with synthetic traffic and load testing tools (preferred).
Export control laws, including the U.S. Export Administration Regulations.
