The engineer will analyze system requirements and architectures to identify protection needs, define and document anti-tamper requirements, and develop verification and validation procedures. Day-to-day responsibilities include participating in design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and security assessments while preparing technical documentation for government customers. The position requires expertise in systems engineering, cybersecurity, embedded software or hardware development, and reverse engineering. Key skills include technical writing, problem-solving, and knowledge of system security standards like NIST and RMF to integrate anti-tamper features into weapon system designs and ensure robust program protection across the product lifecycle.

What you'll do

  • Analyze system requirements and architectures to identify critical program information and protection needs.
  • Define anti-tamper architectures and derive corresponding technical requirements for weapon systems.
  • Write and maintain comprehensive anti-tamper plans and security documentation.
  • Develop, test, and execute verification and validation procedures for anti-tamper features.
  • Participate in design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and security assessments to verify requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver technical briefings and reports to internal leadership and government customers.
  • Integrate anti-tamper solutions into hardware and software designs across various engineering disciplines.
  • Identify, track, and mitigate program risks related to anti-tamper and system security.

What we're looking for

  • Must possess an active DoD Secret clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
  • For Level 3: BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field with 5+ years of experience, or MS with 3+ years.
  • For Level 4: BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field with 8+ years of experience, or MS with 6+ years.
  • Must have Systems Engineering knowledge of weapon systems platforms, sensors, and/or sub-systems.
  • Familiarity with embedded software or hardware, hardware design, architecture, and integration is required.
  • Experience executing Systems Engineering activities such as requirements development, design, integration, test, verification, and validation.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity, anti-tamper, or secure system design as it applies to program protection.
  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Software, or Science related field (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with Anti-Tamper, Reverse Engineering, Hardware Design, Embedded Software, or Cryptography (preferred).
  • Experience with missile systems platforms and implementing anti-tamper solutions on DoD weapons systems (preferred).
  • Knowledge of system security engineering standards and frameworks like NIST, RMF, or STIGs (preferred).
