Cyber Systems Engineer - Level 3 or 4 (AHT) joins the Northrop Grumman Space Systems team to support the design, implementation, and protection of complex systems and cloud environments. The engineer will secure cloud-based infrastructures on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud while configuring and operating security tools such as Rapid7, Trellix, and Splunk for monitoring and incident response. Key responsibilities include leading Risk Management Framework (RMF) accreditation activities, managing Plan of Action and Milestones, and ensuring compliance with DoD 8500-series and DoDI 8510.01 directives. The position requires expertise in cloud security platforms, including CSPM and CWPP, to protect critical infrastructure within highly classified environments for the Department of Defense or Intelligence Community.

What you'll do

Apply Systems Security Engineering principles across the entire system lifecycle including design, implementation, and validation.
Design and secure cloud-based infrastructures including servers, networks, storage, and associated services on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Configure and operate cyber security tools like Rapid7, Trellix, and Splunk for monitoring, detection, and incident response.
Lead RMF accreditation activities including documentation development, security scanning, assessment, and continuous monitoring.
Manage Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) to track remediation activities and manage residual risk.
Produce and maintain RMF authorization documentation such as System Security Plans and Incident Response Plans.
Provide technical guidance to leadership regarding cyber risks, mitigations, and trade-offs.

What we're looking for

Active Top-Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance with CI polygraph.
Bachelor's degree with 5 years experience, Master's with 3 years experience, or PhD with 0 years experience for Level 3.
Bachelor's degree with 8 years experience, Master's with 6 years experience, or PhD with 4 years experience for Level 4.
Possession of Security+ or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.
Experience in systems security engineering as defined by NIST SP 800-160.
Experience implementing cloud infrastructure and security platforms on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Proficiency with tools such as Rapid7, Trellix, and Splunk for monitoring and incident response.
Expertise in RMF (NIST 800-37) accreditation processes and DoD 8500-series/DoDI 8510.01 directives.
Experience with automation and scripting such as Python, PowerShell, Terraform, or Ansible (preferred).
Additional certifications like CASP+, CISM, CCSP, or cloud security specialties (preferred).
