Cyber Systems Engineer

What you'll do

• Apply Systems Security Engineering principles across the entire system lifecycle per NIST SP 800-160.
• Design, implement, and secure cloud-based infrastructures including servers, networks, and storage.
• Configure and operate cyber security tools like Rapid7, Trellix, and Splunk for monitoring and incident response.
• Lead RMF accreditation activities including documentation development, security scanning, and continuous monitoring.
• Manage Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) to track remediation activities and residual risk.
• Produce RMF authorization documentation such as System Security Plans and Incident Response Plans.
• Interpret and apply DoD 8500-series and DoDI 8510.01 directives for cyber security and accreditation.
• Provide technical guidance to leadership on cyber risks, mitigations, and security trade-offs.

What we're looking for

• Active Top-Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance with CI polygraph at time of application.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Bachelor's degree with 5 years experience, Master's with 3 years, PhD with 0 years, or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Bachelor's degree with 8 years experience, Master's with 6 years, PhD with 4 years, or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Possession of Security+ or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.
• Demonstrated exposure to cloud infrastructure, network, and architecture design and implementation on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Background with Systems Security Engineering as defined in NIST SP 800-160.
• Experience with RMF (NIST 800-37) accreditation, DoD 8500-series/DoDI 8510.01 directives, and tools like Rapid7, Trellix, and Splunk.
