The System Integration Lead joins the Biophotonics group to lead a team of System Integrators responsible for ensuring prototype systems function as expected. This role involves facilitating the design, build, test, and debug of prototype systems while interfacing with the Clinical Integration Team to prepare systems for Clinical Studies. The lead will perform triage and debug system issues while mentoring other System Integration Engineers. Key technical requirements include experience with complex electronic or electro-optical systems, laboratory instrumentation like oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers, and scripting in Python or Matlab for test automation. The work focuses on consumer electronics system integration, specifically involving optical or photonic systems, wearable health devices, and medical technologies, requiring a deep understanding of analog and mixed-signal circuit design principles and embedded firmware concepts.
Lead and mentor a team of System Integration Engineers.
Facilitate the design, build, test, and debug of prototype systems with cross-functional teams.
Perform triage and debug of complex system issues.
Interface with the Clinical Integration Team to ensure systems are ready for Clinical Studies.
Use laboratory instrumentation and scripting languages for test automation and data analysis.
Conduct root cause analysis across multi-domain hardware systems.
Develop and maintain automated test equipment and custom bench test fixtures.
What we're looking for
BS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience.
Experience with debugging and troubleshooting issues with complex systems.
Experience with laboratory instrumentation including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, optical power meters, lock-in amplifiers, and precision current/voltage sources.
Experience with scripting languages like Python or Matlab (preferred).
10+ years of hands-on experience in design, systems integration, hardware validation, or related engineering roles (preferred).
Demonstrated experience with optical or photonic systems, including photodetectors, laser sources, imaging sensors, or LiDAR (preferred).
Experience with wearable health devices, medical technologies, or structured debug methodologies (preferred).
