As a System Development Engineer on the Amazon Leo team, you will join the Infrastructure for Over the Air software delivery Engineering group to support mission-critical systems for a satellite broadband constellation. You will be responsible for supporting a suite of applications and services that update software on satellites and ground stations both in orbit and during manufacturing. Your daily work involves troubleshooting production issues, performing software maintenance, developing automation and monitoring tools, and implementing fixes for internally developed code using Python or Go. You will solve technical challenges related to satellite connectivity by triaging issues across multiple products and services while streamlining processes to improve operational excellence and readiness for the low-latency broadband network.

What you'll do

Support the suite of software applications and services used to update satellite and ground station software.
Perform over-the-air (OTA) procedures for satellites in orbit and during manufacturing on launch pads.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and fix production software issues across multiple products and features.
Develop tools, automation scripts, and monitoring solutions to improve operational efficiency.
Implement fixes for internally developed code using Python or Go.
Perform routine software maintenance and configuration management for the satellite constellation.
Root cause and triage technical challenges to ensure high-performing system reliability.
Streamline internal processes and improve overall operational excellence of the infrastructure systems.

What we're looking for

Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or granted asylum/refugee status for export control compliance.
At least 2 years of systems development experience is required.
Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting infrastructure is required.
Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust is required.
