TL;DR · Staff Test & Evaluation Engineer, Networked Battlefield Systems

Staff Test & Evaluation Engineer - Networked Battlefield Systems serves as the senior technical authority for test and evaluation across the Connected Warfare portfolio. This role provides high-level oversight for complex, multi-system test campaigns involving software-enabled hardware and pure-software systems. You will be responsible for developing verification strategies, ensuring requirement traceability, and resolving difficult cross-system integration problems while mentoring other engineers on technical rigor. The work involves conducting developmental tests, system integration in HIL/SIL environments, and operational assessments across various platforms like tactical C2 and networked datalinks. Key skills include expertise in RF communications, MIL-STD protocols, and hardware-in-the-loop testing. You will also manage test readiness reviews and represent the division during design reviews with government stakeholders to ensure technical adequacy for systems operating in demanding defense environments.

What you'll do

  • Serve as the senior technical authority for test strategy across multiple complex, high-risk, or multi-system programs.
  • Review and strengthen verification strategies to ensure they meet customer requirements and scale across software and hardware systems.
  • Identify and drive the reuse of test infrastructure, tooling, and lessons learned across different programs in the division.
  • Provide technical mentorship and escalation support to senior engineers to resolve complex integration and testing problems.
  • Lead Test Readiness Reviews and other technical milestones to represent the company's test posture to government stakeholders.
  • Ensure traceability from requirements through validation results while monitoring defect closure metrics at a division level.
  • Conduct root-cause investigations on difficult system anomalies that cross program boundaries in partnership with engineering teams.
  • Represent the organization in design reviews and technical exchanges with government customers and partner organizations.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 10-14+ years of experience in system-level test and evaluation of integrated hardware/software systems.
  • 8+ years of experience operating in a technical leadership or test lead capacity.
  • Demonstrated expertise in RF communications, tactical datalinks, and networked C2 systems in DoD environments.
  • Proven track record across the full test lifecycle including requirements development, HITL lab integration, and operational validation.
  • Deep familiarity with DoD and industry test processes, including MIL-STD protocols and government verification practices.
  • Ability to mentor and technically direct other engineers across concurrent programs without formal management authority.
  • Active or immediately eligible for a U.S. Secret security clearance; Top Secret/SCI is strongly preferred.
