What you'll do

Drive technical initiatives end-to-end across the full stack from API design to front-end experience.
Architect and build scalable, secure, cloud-native applications using Java, Spring Boot, React, and TypeScript.
Spend approximately 70% of your time coding while setting the technical direction for your team.
Act as a subject-matter expert by leading complex feature designs and mentoring other engineers.
Identify and implement AI opportunities to enhance products and accelerate internal engineering workflows.
Deploy AI-powered features to production and evaluate their impact using specific performance metrics.
Champion engineering quality through automated testing, CI/CD, observability, security, and accessibility standards.
Create technical documentation and lead design reviews to coordinate with product, design, and QA teams.

What we're looking for

BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
8+ years of experience designing and developing online SaaS applications with full-stack expertise.
Strong back-end expertise in Java and/or Kotlin with Spring Boot or comparable modern frameworks.
Strong front-end expertise with JavaScript, TypeScript, and React or a comparable modern framework.
5+ years of experience building and consuming web APIs (REST, gRPC, and/or GraphQL) and designing service interfaces.
Deep command of the full software development lifecycle and the software design and architecture process.
Experience with automated testing, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong technical leadership skills including setting direction, running design reviews, and communicating complex topics to diverse audiences.
Cloud-native development on AWS with microservices, containers, and Kubernetes (preferred).
Experience with event streaming (Kafka), search (Elasticsearch), and SQL/NoSQL database design (preferred).
Hands-on experience building or integrating AI/GenAI capabilities and monitoring them in production (preferred).
Experience with observability and instrumentation for production services (preferred).
Business acumen and a track record of building strong teams (preferred).
