As a Staff, Software Engineer on the OneSource team, you will architect and build scalable, enterprise-grade solutions to serve as the backbone of sourcing and product development transformation. You will design technical architectures, build robust APIs, and own the technical foundation for MCP servers, including connection management and async patterns. Your daily work involves building and optimizing intelligent agents using DSPy and LLM frameworks while ensuring production reliability through monitoring and security. You will utilize Java, Spring Boot, React, Python, PostgreSQL, and Azure SQL to integrate with core tech platforms. What we're looking for
Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
Option 2: 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
10+ years of experience in the design and development of highly scalable distributed applications and platforms.
Deep expertise in Python, Java, Spring Boot, React, PostgreSQL / Azure SQL and modern agentic technologies (LLMs, MCPs).
Proven ability to design and deliver scalable, enterprise-grade solutions integrating with Walmart’s core tech platforms.
Experience leading technical initiatives that drive platform unification, data integration, operational excellence, alerting and monitoring / tracing.
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area (preferred).
Knowledge of implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards and assistive technologies (preferred).
