Staff Software Development Engineer

What you'll do

• Architect and develop high-performance microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud.
• Lead the development of event-driven services utilizing Apache Kafka for streaming patterns and schema evolution.
• Manage API strategy for RESTful services to ensure consistent modeling and backward-compatible versioning.
• Design and implement ETL pipelines for migrating legacy data to cloud-native environments.
• Integrate microservices with healthcare systems using FHIR, HL7 v2, and SMART on FHIR standards.
• Build and maintain CI/CD automation and SecDevOps practices including threat modeling and container hardening.
• Implement observability frameworks using OpenTelemetry to manage tracing, dashboards, and alerts.
• Mentor engineers and establish engineering standards for design reviews and coding best practices.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience).
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience in enterprise environments.
• 7+ years of experience developing applications using Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, and RESTful services.
• 5+ years of experience designing and implementing microservices architectures.
• 3+ years of experience with Apache Kafka or similar event-streaming technologies.
• 3+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices.
• 3+ years of experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• 2+ years of experience working with public cloud platforms, including GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Experience integrating with healthcare systems using FHIR, HL7, SMART on FHIR, or EHR platforms (preferred).
• Experience leading technical initiatives and influencing engineering decisions across teams (preferred).
• Experience building and operating solutions on Google Cloud Platform (preferred).
• Knowledge of regulated healthcare environments, including HIPAA and HITRUST requirements (preferred).
