Staff Platform Engineer

What you'll do

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex reliability issues within the platform's TypeScript application code and microservice communications.
• Design and manage monitoring, dashboards, and alerting strategies using tools like Datadog to ensure proactive visibility.
• Establish standards for distributed tracing across microservices to accelerate root-cause identification.
• Lead the diagnosis and remediation of performance issues involving caching, query optimization, and inefficient code paths.
• Drive platform hardening through fault-injection, resilience testing, and the implementation of defensive design patterns.
• Manage and improve CI/CD pipeline architecture using GitHub Actions for platform deployments.
• Oversee Kubernetes workloads to resolve complex container-native deployment and reliability issues.
• Define reliability targets (SLOs/SLIs) and maintain runbook standards for platform stability.

What we're looking for

• Candidates must have 7 to 10 years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or a hybrid development/reliability role.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required, or equivalent work experience.
• Deep proficiency in TypeScript with significant production experience in a Node.js environment is required.
• Candidates must have strong hands-on experience deploying and troubleshooting containerized workloads in Kubernetes.
• Proven experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions is required.
• Experience designing monitoring, dashboard, and alerting strategies in tools like Datadog is preferred.
• Experience with distributed tracing, relational databases, and fault-injection testing is required.
• Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. for full-time employment.
