What you'll do

Investigate and resolve reliability issues within the TypeScript application codebase and microservice communication failures.
Identify and address failure modes across internal and third-party system integrations using resilience strategies.
Design and maintain monitoring, dashboards, and alerting systems to improve visibility into platform health.
Implement distributed tracing to accelerate root-cause identification for cross-service failures.
Diagnose and remediate performance issues involving caching, inefficient code paths, and database query performance.
Harden components against known failure modes through fault-injection testing and defensive design patterns.
Build and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to support platform deployment.
Manage Kubernetes workloads and maintain documentation for platform reliability and incident remediation.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
4 to 7 years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or a hybrid development/reliability engineering role.
Strong proficiency in TypeScript with production experience in a Node.js environment.
Hands-on experience deploying and troubleshooting containerized workloads in Kubernetes.
Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitHub Actions.
Experience configuring monitoring, dashboards, and alerting tools, preferably Datadog.
Experience troubleshooting distributed systems, microservice communication failures, and implementing distributed tracing.
Ability to diagnose performance issues including caching, query optimization, and designing for failure modes like circuit breakers.
