What you'll do

  • Develop and document manufacturing processes for PCBAs, electro-optical instruments, and integrated spacecraft systems following space-grade standards.
  • Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM) initiatives to optimize production yield, cost, and manufacturability from concept through production.
  • Manage quality assurance by leading root cause analyses, performing PFMEA, and implementing corrective actions for non-conformances.
  • Design and deploy custom tooling, fixtures, test equipment, and automation solutions using CAD/3D modeling capabilities.
  • Implement and optimize Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and ERP workflows to improve traceability and data-driven decision-making.
  • Manage technical relationships with suppliers and contract manufacturers through audits, qualifications, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Lead manufacturing readiness reviews and participate in design reviews for high-reliability flight hardware programs.
  • Scale production from prototype to high-rate manufacturing while mentoring junior engineers and technicians on the production floor.

What we're looking for

  • Must have 12+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in aerospace, space systems, aviation, or defense industries.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Deep knowledge of high-reliability electronics standards including IPC-610/620 Class 3 and NASA-STD-8739 series.
  • Expert understanding of PCBA manufacturing processes and box-level assembly for complex systems.
  • Experience implementing Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and ERP/MRP workflows like SAP, Oracle, or Odoo.
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone), PFMEA, and CAPA process management.
  • Ability to design or specify custom tooling, fixtures, and test equipment using CAD/3D modeling capabilities.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
