Senior Manager, Manufacturing Engineering, Space

What you'll do

• Lead and mentor a high-performing team of manufacturing and integration engineers.
• Oversee the development and optimization of manufacturing processes for complex space-qualified hardware.
• Integrate Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles into the product lifecycle.
• Lead Manufacturing Readiness Reviews (MRR) and Test Readiness Reviews (TRR) for space programs.
• Establish and enforce rigorous quality control standards to ensure zero-defect manufacturing of space components.
• Provide technical guidance on facility layout, equipment selection, and tooling design for production environments.
• Serve as the primary manufacturing interface with Design Engineering, Supply Chain, and Program Management.
• Evaluate supplier manufacturing capabilities and readiness for critical components in collaboration with the supply chain team.

What we're looking for

• Degree in a technical field such as engineering, math, or hard science is preferred.
• At least 8 years of experience in space/satellite manufacturing, systems engineering, or electromechanical hardware design.
• Experience in integration, assembly, and environmental testing for space vehicles and components.
• Background in integrating avionics, optical payloads, solar, propulsion, or other space hardware.
• Proven leadership skills to manage and develop a diverse team of engineers.
• Personal experience physically manufacturing hardware through machining, fabrication, soldering, and assembly.
• Familiarity with CAD software, Manufacturing Execution systems, and ERP/MRP systems.
• Active security clearance or the ability to obtain one is required.
