Staff Full-Stack Software Engineer, AI & App Experience

What you'll do

• Set technical direction for LLM integration including agent architectures, prompt strategies, and orchestration patterns.
• Design, build, and scale member-facing capabilities for the AI-powered financial assistant from prototype to production.
• Build evaluation frameworks, observability tools, and guardrail systems to ensure safe and reliable LLM features.
• Develop backend services and internal tooling for model routing, prompt management, and automated evaluation pipelines.
• Establish AI-native development practices and quality gates to improve team productivity and output reliability.
• Determine appropriate levels of model autonomy versus human judgment based on the risk and stakes of specific tasks.
• Drive experimentation through A/B testing and data analysis to inform product decisions.
• Mentor engineers and conduct code reviews to maintain high technical standards across the codebase.

What we're looking for

• Must have 8+ years of backend or full-stack software development experience in production environments.
• Must possess deep expertise in system design, distributed systems, and architectural patterns for high-scale systems.
• Must be proficient in Python or comparable frameworks to make sound decisions across the stack.
• Must demonstrate AI-native fluency by actively using LLMs, AI code assistants, and generative AI tools daily.
• Must have hands-on experience building and shipping LLM-powered product features like agents, evals, and guardrails at scale.
• Must have a track record of mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership across teams.
• Must have experience with transactional databases (e.g., Postgres) and caching systems (e.g., Redis).
• Experience in fintech or startup environments is preferred.
