JOB TITLE: Staff Engineer As a Staff Engineer, you will join the team responsible for building the next generation of the data platform. You will design and build connectors to sync data from and to various ERP, Bank, Payments, Tax, and Subledger systems, ensuring extensibility and scalability of data transfer protocols. What you'll do

Design and build connectors to sync data between BlackLine and various ERP, Bank, and Payment systems.
Develop, maintain, and scale cloud-based backend platform components including API Gateways, Job Schedulers, and Workflow Orchestration.
Lead technical design and architecture discussions to make trade-offs on technology, performance, and extensibility.
Mentor and coach team members through complex design issues and perform peer code reviews.
Estimate project scopes and timelines while ensuring consistent delivery of highly scalable distributed services.
Research and evaluate new tools and technologies to recommend implementations for product development.
Perform critical maintenance, deployment, and release support activities, including occasional off-hours support.

What we're looking for

BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
6+ years of professional experience building web-scale, highly available, multi-tenant SaaS with a focus on backend platforms, frameworks, RESTful APIs, and microservices.
Expert in one or more object-oriented programming languages, specifically C#, Java, or C++.
Solid computer science foundation in data structures, algorithms, and design patterns with a track record of writing high concurrency, multi-threaded, secure, and scalable code.
Proven experience as a technical lead for design, architecture, and code review of highly scalable distributed systems and event-driven architecture.
Fluent in SQL, No-SQL, data modeling, and transactional flows.
Experience with data integration and ETL tools, both productized and open source.
Experience with continuous delivery, infrastructure as code, and public cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP) (preferred).
