As a Staff I Software Engineer, you will join the team responsible for building the next generation of the BlackLine data platform. You will design and build connectors to sync data from and to various ERP, Bank, Payments, Tax, and Subledger systems, ensuring extensibility and scalability of data transfer protocols. Your daily responsibilities include designing, developing, troubleshooting, and scaling cloud-based backend components such as Event Bus, API Gateway, Identity Management, and Workflow Orchestration. You will provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and perform requirements analysis for highly scalable distributed services. Required skills include expertise in C#, Java, or C++, SQL, No-SQL, and data modeling. You will utilize experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and ETL tools to solve complex data integration problems within a multi-tenant SaaS environment.

What we're looking for
BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
6+ years of professional experience building web-scale, highly available multi-tenant SaaS with a focus on backend platforms, frameworks, RESTful APIs, and microservices.
Expert proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language such as C#, Java, or C++.
Solid computer science foundation in data structures, algorithms, and design patterns with a track record of writing high-concurrency, multi-threaded, secure, and scalable code.
Proven experience as a technical lead for design, architecture, and code review of highly scalable distributed systems and event-driven architecture.
Fluency in SQL, No-SQL, data modeling, and transactional flows.
Experience working in an Agile development environment.
Experience with data integration and ETL tools (productized and open source).
Experience with continuous delivery and infrastructure as code (preferred).
Good knowledge of internet security issues in software design and code (preferred).
Open source contributor (preferred).
Proven experience delivering core platform services like API gateways, identity management, messaging, or workflow orchestration (preferred).
3+ years of experience with a public cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and solid understanding of cloud-native services (preferred).
FinTech or financial services domain background (preferred).
Experience with ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, Netsuite, or Microsoft) with a focus on the general ledger (preferred).
