Staff Developer Advocate

What you'll do

• Act as a subject matter expert for the advocacy and engineering teams.
• Drive the execution of regional technical event content programs like summits and meetups.
• Define and lead regional advocacy programs to keep Datadog relevant to technical practitioners.
• Represent Datadog’s point of view on products, culture, and industry trends at public events.
• Manage, mentor, and grow a team of regional Developer Advocates across the APJ region.
• Coach internal product managers and engineers on effective public communication and presentation skills.
• Create technical content including demos, blog posts, webinars, and documentation to build brand authority.
• Provide feedback to the product team regarding bugs and potential feature enhancements.

What we're looking for

• Must have approximately 5+ years of experience as a software developer, SRE, or other practitioner.
• Must have approximately 5+ years of experience in a senior technical developer relations capacity.
• Must have approximately 3+ years of experience in storytelling and creating compelling content like written pieces, talks, or videos.
• Must provide publicly available writing samples, blog posts, demos, or recordings of presentations on technical topics.
• Must have experience coaching others to speak publicly and deliver compelling talks about their expertise.
• Must have experience working on or organizing technical conferences and events.
• Experience localizing technical content for regional audiences is preferred.
• Multilingual skills in languages prominent in the ASEAN region are preferred.
