This role involves building a CDN/WAF paved road to automate endpoint onboarding and designing self-service platforms for edge, DNS, and certificate workflows. You will engineer and tune security policies for Akamai Kona, App & API Protector, and AWS WAFv2 while managing DNS and SSL/TLS lifecycles using ACM, Venafi, and DigiCert. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting the full packet path, automating compliance, and orchestrating AI agents to execute tasks. Required skills include deep expertise in Akamai, AWS, and networking protocols like TCP/IP and BGP. You must be proficient in Python, Golang, React, and Java, alongside Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.

What you'll do

  • Build a CDN/WAF paved road to automate public endpoint onboarding and optimize edge configurations.
  • Engineer and tune edge security policies for WAF, bot management, and rate control across Akamai and AWS.
  • Design and support self-service platforms, APIs, and UIs for edge, DNS, and certificate workflows.
  • Own the DNS and SSL/TLS certificate lifecycle, including mTLS and network connectivity solutions.
  • Troubleshoot the full packet path to diagnose connectivity issues across the edge and cloud network.
  • Automate compliance and cost reporting while performing proactive performance tuning of Cloud Platform services.
  • Orchestrate AI agents to build and operate infrastructure while ensuring the quality and reliability of agent-produced output.
  • Provide 24x7 incident response for critical edge and platform services, including off-hours migrations.

What we're looking for

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent work-related experience.
  • Deep hands-on expertise with Akamai CDN and WAF products, including Kona, Bot Manager, and PAPI APIs.
  • Strong networking foundation including TCP/IP, HTTP/2, DNS, SSL/TLS, BGP, and AWS Transit Gateway/VPC routing.
  • Proficiency in software engineering and scripting using Python, Golang, React, and Java to build REST APIs and UIs.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, AWS CDK, Terraform) and deployment automation tools like Jenkins.
  • Hands-on AWS experience with API Gateway, CloudFront, ACM, Lambda, and WAFv2.
  • Fluent in AI agent development and orchestration to build agentic tooling and review AI-generated output.
  • Experience operating production support/on-call surfaces with formal change management and incident RCA.
  • Knowledge of Google GCP and Microsoft Azure (preferred).
  • Full Stack development proficiency (preferred).
