The Staff CAD Platform Engineer will join the engineering and manufacturing teams to establish, maintain, and optimize the Siemens NX CAD environment. This role involves leading the configuration, standardization, and continuous improvement of the NX and Teamcenter PLM ecosystem to support rapid innovation in defense solutions. Key responsibilities include administering NX installations and license servers, managing version upgrades, and developing automation tools using the NXOpen API and Knowledge Fusion. The engineer will create standardized part families, product configurators, and reusable component libraries while enforcing organization-wide modeling standards. The position requires multi-skilled experience in CAD, CAM, and CAE environments, along with the ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematics. The work focuses on ensuring data integrity and performance for complex engineering workflows within a defense technology context.
Develop, implement, and optimize the Siemens NX CAD environment including templates and role-based configurations.
Administer NX installations, license servers, and Teamcenter PLM integrations while managing version upgrades and patches.
Configure standardized part families, product configurators, and reusable component libraries to ensure design consistency.
Develop automation tools and scripts using NXOpen API and Knowledge Fusion to streamline design tasks.
Lead root cause investigations for CAD/PLM issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Establish and enforce organization-wide standards for CAD modeling and PLM data entry.
Provide technical leadership, structured training, and mentorship to engineering and design teams.
Coordinate configuration projects with manufacturing, IT, and quality departments to ensure regulatory compliance.
What we're looking for
7+ years of experience in a CAD administration or NX configuration role in an engineering or production environment.
Multi-skilled experience administering and configuring Siemens NX with advanced troubleshooting across CAD, CAM, and CAE environments.
Experience configuring NX templates, customization files, role-based settings, and standardized environments for multi-user deployments.
Experience creating and maintaining part families, product configurators, and reusable component libraries.
Working knowledge of interpreting NX Logs and Sys Logs.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and CAD/PLM technical documentation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with all levels of the organization.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent (preferred); significant experience with NXOpen API, Knowledge Fusion, Teamcenter PLM, and U.S. Secret clearance (preferred).
