As a Sr. Wi-Fi Software Engineer (Starlink), you will join the team responsible for delivering an end-to-end customer experience for the world’s largest satellite constellation. You will drive the Wi-Fi software and product roadmap, improve mesh performance, and mentor other engineers while building a strong work culture. Your daily responsibilities include debugging and optimizing kernel-level system performance, collaborating with RF and EE engineers to improve testing procedures, and inventing new tools for continuous integration, deployment, and data analysis. The role requires expertise in C, C++, Golang, and Python, along with deep knowledge of the IEEE 802.11 standard, networking protocols like UDP and TCP/IP, and Linux bridge internals. You will solve complex problems involving network stack internals, kernel modules, drivers, and security issues within distributed systems to enhance broadband internet connectivity for diverse global users.
Debug and optimize kernel-level system performance.
Improve Wi-Fi mesh performance for Starlink systems.
Develop new tools for automated software deployment, test execution, and data analysis.
Collaborate with RF and EE engineers to improve hardware and software testing procedures.
Mentor junior software engineers and contribute to the team's work culture.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or STEM discipline and 5+ years of professional software development experience; or 7+ years of experience without a degree.
3+ years of development experience in C or C++.
Experience with the IEEE 802.11 wireless standard and networking protocols like UDP and TCP/IP.
Experience working on embedded software for networking equipment.
Strong fundamental knowledge of networks, embedded systems, math, and physics (preferred).
Solid communication and leadership skills (preferred).
Knowledge of DHCP, IPv4, IPv6, Linux bridge, network stack internals, kernel modules, and drivers (preferred).
Experience with Golang, Python, hostAP, and CI/CD systems (preferred).
Must be a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, or eligible for required export control authorizations.
