As a Wi-Fi Software Engineer (Starlink), you will join the team responsible for delivering an end-to-end customer experience for the world’s most advanced broadband internet system. You will drive the Wi-Fi software and product roadmap, debug and optimize kernel-level system performance, and improve Wi-Fi mesh performance. Your daily work involves collaborating with RF and EE engineers to enhance testing procedures for hardware and software while inventing new tools for continuous integration, deployment, and data analysis. The role requires proficiency in C, C++, Golang, and Python, alongside deep knowledge of the IEEE 802.11 standard, networking protocols like UDP and TCP/IP, and Linux bridge internals. You will solve technical challenges involving network stack internals, kernel modules, drivers, and security issues within distributed systems to ensure reliable connectivity for a global satellite constellation.
Debug and optimize kernel-level system performance.
Improve Wi-Fi mesh performance for Starlink systems.
Develop new tools for automated software deployment, test execution, and data analysis.
Create continuous integration and release systems to ensure reliable deployments.
Collaborate with RF and EE engineers to improve hardware and software testing procedures.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or STEM discipline and 1+ years of professional experience; or 3+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
1+ years of development experience in C or C++.
Experience with the IEEE 802.11 wireless standard and networking protocols like UDP and TCP/IP.
Experience working on embedded software for networking equipment.
Strong fundamental knowledge of networks, embedded systems, math, and physics (preferred).
Knowledge of DHCP, IPv4, IPv6, Linux bridge, network stack internals, and experience with kernel modules and drivers (preferred).
Experience with Golang, Python, hostAP, and testing Wi-Fi for performance or stability (preferred).
Must be a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, or eligible for required export control authorizations.
