The Sr. Systems Analyst I joins the CMD Tech Communications team to support customer communications for annuity and life product sales on Customer Communication Management platforms. Working within an Agile environment, this individual collaborates with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather, document, and validate functional and technical requirements. Daily responsibilities include refining backlogs, writing user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and managing defects or incidents through root cause analysis. The role requires proficiency in Azure DevOps for tracking delivery and requirements throughout the software development lifecycle. Key skills include experience with business process flows, use cases, and system upgrades. Technical competencies involve familiarity with SQL, APIs, XML, JSON, and systems integration. The position addresses the specific challenge of managing correspondence applications, document composition, and print or mail workflows within the insurance industry.
Gather, document, analyze, and validate business, functional, and technical requirements for correspondence applications.
Support Agile teams by refining backlogs, writing user stories, and defining acceptance criteria.
Manage requirements, defects, and delivery tracking within the Azure DevOps platform.
Perform incident triage, root cause investigation, and defect management for production support.
Analyze business processes to identify gaps and develop scalable solutions for operational efficiency.
Coordinate system upgrades, maintenance activities, and regulatory changes with internal and vendor teams.
Support application modernization initiatives and large-scale technology transformation programs.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or Technical Business Analyst supporting enterprise applications.
Experience working within Agile delivery teams including backlog refinement, sprint planning, user story development, and acceptance criteria definition.
Hands-on experience using Azure DevOps (ADO) to manage requirements, user stories, defects, testing activities, and delivery tracking.
Experience eliciting, documenting, and validating business, functional, and technical requirements.
Experience supporting production applications including incident management, defect analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, testing practices, and change management processes.
Experience with Customer Communications Management (CCM) platforms or knowledge of life insurance and annuities products (preferred).
