Senior Staff Vehicle Engineer

What you'll do

• Act as the primary technical advocate for autonomous partners during discussions with vehicle manufacturers.
• Synthesize diverse technical needs from multiple partners into a single set of unified vehicle requirements.
• Translate complex functional safety concepts into detailed, actionable hardware specifications for OEM partners.
• Define mechanical, electrical, and software interfaces required for autonomous systems.
• Lead architectural decisions for vehicle sensor suites and compute platforms.
• Translate rider needs into integrated technical specifications for the overall user experience.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related engineering field.
• 8+ years of experience in automotive engineering, hardware systems design, or robotics hardware development.
• Deep, direct experience working within or extensively with automotive OEMs to navigate their culture and technical negotiation processes.
• Expertise in automotive functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262) to translate requirements into detailed engineering specifications.
• Strong hardware systems engineering skills and a deep understanding of vehicle electrical architectures.
• Extensive professional experience integrating autonomous vehicle hardware onto modern vehicle platforms (preferred).
• Deep understanding of functional safety analysis methodologies such as HARA, FMEA, FTA, and SOTIF (preferred).
• Hands-on experience with automotive networking protocols and power management systems (preferred).
