The Sr. Specialist, Project Engineering joins the TRF Bristol team to lead day-to-day engineering execution for airborne telemetry, radio frequency, and embedded hardware programs. This role manages cost, schedule, and technical performance across the product lifecycle, ensuring disciplined execution from proposal through production support. Key responsibilities include coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams, managing performance within an Earned Value Management System, and planning major reviews like PDR and CDR. The position requires expertise in hardware or embedded system development for aerospace and defense applications, specifically involving ruggedized electronics, sensor signal processing, and communications security. Candidates must utilize skills in risk management, Work Breakdown Structure creation, and Basis of Estimate development. The work focuses on developing qualified hardware modules for secure tracking, flight safety, and end-to-end communications security for allied platforms.
Lead day-to-day cost, schedule, and technical execution for airborne telemetry and embedded hardware programs.
Manage engineering performance within an Earned Value Management System (EVMS) including ETC development and IMS coordination.
Plan and support major engineering reviews such as SRR, PDR, CDR, and Test Readiness Reviews.
Serve as the primary technical interface for customers and suppliers to resolve execution issues and communicate status.
Lead project-level risk management by identifying, tracking, and developing mitigation plans for engineering issues.
Coordinate with Operations, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to transition new products into production.
Support bids and proposals by developing engineering scope, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), and Basis of Estimate (BOE) inputs.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of relevant engineering experience, a Graduate degree and 4 years of experience, or 10 years of experience without a degree.
Experience coordinating or leading engineering execution within defined cost, schedule, and technical requirements in a structured program environment.
Experience working in an Earned Value Management System (EVMS) environment, including cost/schedule tracking and Estimate to Complete development.
Experience supporting hardware or embedded system development in aerospace, defense, RF, telemetry, or sensor processing applications.
Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams or Integrated Product Teams across the product development lifecycle.
Ability to obtain and maintain a United States security clearance.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to convey information effectively both verbally and in writing (preferred).
